The idea of the project “Balkan Alliance of Women’s Organizations for Professional Training in Business and Economics” was born and created among cooperating organizations from Greece, Romania, Croatia, FYROM, Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria and Turkey. These organisations cooperate and work together on numerous educationally oriented projects.
The aim of the project is to create a stable and multinational network of organisations and institutions from the Balkan region in order to develop professional skills and organise training seminars to help women in the business sector. The main objectives of the project are to create a Network to support transnational cooperation between training organisations and institutions and to support economic and social development based on common sources of development. In addition, it aims to promote equal opportunities, new educational levels, the acquisition of new skills through the organisation of seminars and courses and the promotion of women’s participation in research, innovation and public awareness. The above are some of the principles and objectives that will be pursued during the implementation of the project.
Female unemployment averages around half of the total unemployment rate in the region, with wide regional differences, which strongly reflects the fluctuating level of female integration in the labour market.
