DIGI-WOMEN – Digital entrepreneurship tools and support for women entrepreneurs

The United Nations in 2020 warned that the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis will negatively affect women entrepreneurs to a greater extent than men, as existing social protection programmes and emergency actions fail to address the constraints faced by women. In particular, the European Commission’s 2018 study on women in the digital age revealed that there is a decline (with 2011 as a base year) in women taking formal courses in internet and digital communication technologies. Clearly, there are programmes to help women entrepreneurs cope and implement digital tools in their businesses, but the problem remains and is getting worse.

The main objective of the DigiWomen project is to help women digitise their businesses. Through the project, a training programme will be developed to train experts to deliver training and coaching sessions tailored to the needs of women entrepreneurs to help them overcome the obstacles they will face during the digitisation of their business.
